There is no reason something can't be complicated and true.Nulonohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00696072610155482618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5376709657438620280.post-63496740392316464422009-03-01T22:02:00.000-08:002009-03-01T22:02:00.000-08:00Quantum physics replaces universal causation with ...Quantum physics replaces universal causation with probability, but while that is a metaphysical difference it isn't a problem for the razor. Likewise string theory proposes a host of new dimensions, but only as many as are necessary to account for the various aspects of string theory. It would violate the razor only if new dimensions got added which were not necessitated by observable phenomena.<BR/><BR/>Moral realism entails some sort of 'existence' for moral rules as entities independent of people. That violates the razor because a system without such entities (where people author the rules and they are merely behavioral conventions) accounts for observable phenomena.ockrazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07681138753527454144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5376709657438620280.post-49741732692837617732009-02-24T08:23:00.000-08:002009-02-24T08:23:00.000-08:00Ockham's Razor presents an oversimplified version ...Ockham's Razor presents an oversimplified version of reality.
